Marisa (prounounced Mar-ee-sa) has always been a bibliophile, obsessed with the biggest, most unique books she can find. She believes there is nothing better than curling up in a blanket with a mocha and reading a good, long story late into the night. There was no question what niche she would choose after graduation. She went straight into children's books and adult inspirational work at a traditional publishing house in 2001, and has designed covers and interiors for a wide range of clients independently since 2008. Today, Marisa continues to work with traditional publishing houses, self-publishing authors, and other creative agencies.
Her love for big books translates into a voracious appetite for working with large, complex projects with detailed precision. She reads every manuscript before beginning cover design, and proofreads every line while finishing interiors. She takes pride in her level of commitment to clients and regularly beats schedules and expectations.
“As a first time author/publisher, I needed a designer who had good experience and was dependable. Marisa was a perfect fit. She set a schedule and met it. She kept me informed and presented options and she did all the work within the agreed budget. Proof of her excellent work and approach is that with my second edition there was no hesitation in engaging Marisa without looking for alternatives.”

”Marisa is the kind of professional you don't find very often ... the kind who delivers above expectations over, and over, and over again.
Her work is first class and she is an excellent communicator. If I could take her off the market and use her only for my own publications, I would.
She is too good and too talented for words.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Marisa. She is an artist and what she creates is not just a book, it is a work of art in its own right—the look, the feel, the sense of the book as a visual object, all combine to create a result that is attractive and memorable just for the style in which it is produced.”

”I have hired Marisa to art direct and design 5 catalogs of both adult and childrens’ book for Guideposts/Ideals Publications. It has been a complete pleasure working with her. She is fast, accurate, able to troubleshoot brilliantly; offer me options and alternatives I may not have considered; has a great command of good design principles and is very enjoyable to work with. She handles large amounts of intricate detail extremely well and regularly goes the extra mile to make sure everything is correct and done accurately. I would absolutely recommend her and look forward to working with her again.”

“Marisa was a tremendous designer while at Ideals Publications. She is not only creative but could handle a substantial workload.
When there was a critical need to get a job done creatively and within a tight deadline we could always count on her.
It was also obvious that Marisa was a student of her craft and was up on the latest trends, colors, etc. ... and always came up with great designs.
You can count on Marisa to provide you with great work.”
